Watch Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Lakers Live NBA Betting : The game match of the two NBA Basketball team Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers is scheduled to be held this day, May 19, 2010, Coverage: TNT, 9:00 PM ET, STAPLES Center, Los Angeles, CA. The people of the world are so excited to watch this most anticipated match of the month.

The first game of the Western Conference Finals was, for the Phoenix Suns, a tester to see just how far away they are from the La Lakers.

The NBA Game 2 is set on fire! After a winning moment of Lakers in the game one the Suns is on in the test of their gaming strategy. Knowing the Suns was an unexpected team to reach the conference final but now they are tested by their opposing team by defeating them in the NBA Game 1 Conference Final. Now this Game two of NBA Western Series, would it be the 2nd opportunity for the Lakers to take a 2-0 lead or would it be an effective adjustment gaming strategy for the Suns to poses their first win and take the game on tie by 1-1 standing?

As it turns out, and just as everyone thought, they are pretty far from the Lakers level and if they want to advance to the NBA Finals adjustments will have to be made. The Suns players know it, their coach Alvin Gentry knows it and the Suns fans know it, in fact everyone knows it.

Jared Dudley, the Suns back-up small forward, posted on his Twitter: Tough one tonight... Gotta Regroup.. Will Watch some film, make some adjustments and be ready for game 2 wed..

Those adjustments will be key because the 128-107 defeat at Staples Centre in Los Angeles was a warning sign that the Lakers are not going to mess around. The game-changing moves Gentry made during the game clearly didnt work.

Channing Frye, coming off the bench, scored only three points going 1-8 from the field and Dudley couldnt prevent Kobe Bryant from making his 11th career 40 point play-off game. And though Steve Nash has 13 points and 13 assists it just wasnt enough.

Amare Stoudemire lead the Suns in scoring with 23 points but for a power forward they are going to need much more than three rebounds from him, especially against a team like the Lakers who can put out three guys who are over 6ft 10in.

Size is the main problem for the Suns and when you talk about game changing moves, size is just not an option for the Suns, simply because they dont have it. Its sad to say but it looks like the Lakers will coast their way to another NBA Finals.

Watch Charlton Athletic vs Swindon Town online live Soccer Betting Tip. Charlton Athletic vs Swindon Town come today, 17 May 2010 English League One match kick-off begin at The Valley, 20:45 CET. Charlton will check on Sam Sodje ahead of the second leg of their play-off semi-final against Swindon.

The defender was feeling his persistent knee injury during Friday’s 2-1 first-leg defeat at the County Ground but still managed to get through the full 90 minutes.

Miguel Llera remains on stand-by to deputise at centre-half if Sodje is ruled out.

Full-backs Grant Basey (ankle) and Kelly Youga (knee) are the only definite injury absentees.

Boss Phil Parkinson could make changes with his side chasing a goal to get back into the tie.

Therry Racon could drop out of midfield for the more attack-minded Kyel Reid, while veteran striker Nicky Forster is pushing for a recall up front.

Billy Paynter remains a major doubt for Swindon.

The club`s 26-goal leading scorer missed the first leg with a hamstring strain picked up in training on Wednesday while harmlessly playing a ball.

Manager Danny Wilson kept his cards close to his chest in the build-up to the encounter but admitted afterwards that Paynter is again struggling for the trip to The Valley, although he will give him as long as possible to prove his fitness.

Wilson also hinted at possible changes to bring some fresh legs into the tie with the two fixtures within 72 hours of each other, but they may well come as the encounter progresses on the night.

Kobe Bryant has barely touched a basketball in a week, giving his gimpy ankle and arthritic finger time to heal. That purplish, jagged gouge over Steve Nash’s right eye also should be one week less ghastly by tipoff time in the Western Conference finals.

Although both stars play a beautiful game, Bryant and Nash realize postseason basketball is rarely pretty, and they wouldn’t expect to escape the postseason without a few ugly souvenirs of the playoff grind.

After both teams got a week off to rest and recalibrate, the top-seeded Los Angeles Lakers will attempt to reach their third straight NBA finals when they take on the Phoenix Suns, starting in Game 1 on Monday night.

“It’s all part of the game, every part of it,” Bryant said. “I love a long layoff. Everybody on our team is pretty much banged up, so it’s good to get rest and get ready for what’s in front of you.”

Bryant has been cagey about his interest in revenge on the Suns for ending the Lakers’ season in the 2006 and 2007 playoffs, alternately embracing and downplaying it. Three years can be an eternity in the here-today, gone-later-today world of pro sports, but Bryant, Lamar Odom and a few other Lakers from those teams have mentioned a passing interest in payback.

Nicolas Almagro vs Tomas Berdych live Tennis Betting Odds : Nicolas Almagro goes into this match needing a victory over Tomas Berdych in order to rescue Spain’s hopes of beating the Czech Republik in the ARAG World Team Cup. Yesterday, Jan Hajek made light work of Daniel Gimeno-Traver, giving the Czech Republik a 1-0 advantage, with two matches remaining.

Berdych is a tough opponent, and is capable of providing the Czech Republik with what would be a fantastic victory, though Almagro may be the favourite here. Berdych hasn’t quite hit form on clay yet this season, and despite the fact that he is one of the world’s best players, may struggle.

Monaco Grand Prix Betting - Motor Sports Bet

After the domination in Spain last weekend by the Red Bull cars, who will claim the twenty-five points for taking the chequered flag in Monaco. The Monte Carlo circuit is completely different to the Circuit de Catalunya and its long straights and wide run off areas with this weekend’s street circuit having zero room for error and no long straights to speak of. Who will win the most prestigious Formula One race of the season? BetRepublic.com previews the action here.

Outright Race Winner Odds :

Sebastian Vettel – 11/5

Fernando Alonso – 7/2

Mark Webber – 4/1

Lewis Hamilton – 4/1

Jenson Button – 10/1

Michael Schumacher – 16/1

Felipe Massa – 16/1

Nico Rosberg – 20/1

Robert Kubica – 22/1

Adrian Sutil – 66/1

Vitaly Petrov – 150/1

Rubens Barrichello – 200/1

Vitantonio Liuzzi – 200/1

Nico Hulkenburg – 250/1

Sebastien Buemi – 250/1

Kamui Kobayashi – 300/1

Jamie Alguersuari – 300/1

Pedro de la Rosa – 400/1

Lucas di Grassi – 1500/1

Heikki Kovalainen – 1500/1

Timo Glock – 1500/1

Jarno Trulli – 1500/1

Karun Chandhok – 2000/1

Bruno Senna – 2000/1

The Monaco Grand Prix is the jewel in the Formula One crown. It forms one part of the unofficial Triple Crown of Motorsport alongside the Indy 500 and the Le Mans 24 hours and is the one Formula One race that every driver wants to win. The current king of Monaco is Michael Schumacher, who has won the race on five different occasions.

He is joint second with Graham Hill in total Monaco race wins and just one win behind Aryton Senna. McLaren drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton have won the last two races, while Fernando Alonso took the top step of the podium in 2007 and 2006.

The only other driver still on the grid to have won in Monaco is Lotus driver Jarno Trulli who won in 2004 in a Renault. Will any of these drivers add to their totals or will we see a Red Bull car take its first Monaco GP win this year?

Despite his poor showing in Spain, Sebastian Vettel is the clear favourite with betrepublic to take the race win on his third trip to Monaco. Vettel failed to finish the race last year after crashing on lap fourteen and he will hope to finish the race this year.

However, the way that he has been driving the car has come under question this week after he suffered more issues with his car in Barcelona. He broke the front wing and abused his breaks so that they stopped working correctly and should he be so hard on his car in Monaco his race will surely end in the barriers for a second year running.

After taking the victory in Barcelona Mark Webber will be in a highly confident mood as he looks to improve on his best ever finish of third place on his debut in 2005. His, and Vettel’s, car had some major aerodynamic upgrades for the last race and those upgrades gave them a 20kmph advantage over the other top teams in places on the Circuit de Catalunya.

Monaco is all about aerodynamics over top end pace and with the way that these upgrades aided Webber it is likely that he will be on the pace again this weekend. As a result of this, coupled with my uncertainty over Vettel’s driving style, leads me to believe that Webber will win the race this weekend.

Who else will be joining the Australian on the podium? It’ll all boil down to who qualifies best out of the McLaren drivers, Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher, as the tight, twisty street circuit does not offer too many overtaking opportunities. Of the four drivers Hamilton is most likely to be able to recover from a poor qualifying position as Button, Alonso and Schumacher have found it difficult to pass other drivers this season. However, Hamilton is tough on his tyres and that may cause him problems. For this reason alone I will be backing Hamilton to finish on the podium at odds of 10/11.

Michael Schumacher managed to finish fourth in Spain last week and he looked more like the Schumacher of old after Mercedes made a raft of upgrades to their car. While these upgrades have adversely affected Nico Rosberg the changes have helped Schumacher find his feet again and he comfortably kept ahead of world champion and world championship leader Jenson Button and his F-duct for almost fifty laps of the Barcelona circuit.

Having won in Monaco on five occasions Schumacher knows the track like the back of his hand and with the additional speed and control afforded by the upgrades to his car he will be in the hunt for major points again this weekend, so I will be backing him at 5/6 to finish in the top six.

This race, as always, promises to be an excellent spectacle – especially this year as the faster cars at the front will have lots more traffic to pass due to the three newer teams – so keep up to date all weekend long by visiting the BetRepublic.com Formula One stadium for all the best bets before, during and after qualifying and the race.

BetRepublic Recommends:

Back Mark Webber to win the race @ 4/1

Back Lewis Hamilton to finish on the podium @ 10/11

Back Michael Schumacher to finish in the top six @ 5/6

Thursday’s Tennis Betting Odds

This week’s tennis action comes from the clay courts of Madrid as the top players in the world look to acclimatise themselves to the clay courts with the French Open at Roland Garros only ten days away. In this article BetRepubli.com will be previewing two third round matches from the men’s draw featuring two of the top three players in the world in Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Roger Federer vs Stanislas Wawrinka :

This match pits the world number one, Federer, against the world number twenty-three for the fifth time ever. Federer has a 3-1 lead in victories against his fellow Swiss player, however Wawrinka will take heart from the fact that his one and only victory against his more illustrious countryman came in their only previous meeting on Clay. Can Wawrinka upset the massive odds against him to eliminate Federer?

After being upset in the Semi Finals of the Estoril Open by Albert Montanes at the weekend Federer hit back with a 6-2, 7-6 win over 19 year old German Benjamin Becker in the second round of this tournament after his first round bye due to being seeded.

It was a good first set performance by the defending champion, but he could not break the young German in the second set but used his experience well in the tie break to wrap up the match. Wawrinka has played two matches so far, beating Marcel Granollers 6-4, 6-4 in the first round before following that up with his opponent Leonardo Mayer retiring in their second round encounter with the score at 6-4, 6-2 in the Swiss players advantage.

With Federer seemingly back in form again William Hill have made him the massive favourite to progress in this tie @ 2/5, with Wawrinka available at 7/4, but will the match go the way the odds suggest? Federer is good enough to defeat Wawrinka easily but he has not been at his best in recent weeks and Wawrinka is good enough to beat Federer should the world number one not play at 100%.

As I have stated their only previous clay court encounter ending in a Wawrinka win and that came in straight sets at the 2009 Monte Carlo Masters. With the way that Federer has been so inconsistent in the last while I am going to go with an upset for this match.

BetRepublic.com Recommends: Back Stanislas Wawrinka to beat Roger Federer @ 7/4

John Isner vs Rafael Nadal Tennis Betting Tips:

BetRepublic.com are not expecting anything but a Rafael Nadal win in this match as they have the Spaniard available at 1/33 to win the match compared to 10/1 for his American opponent. We feel that there will be an upset on the cards for Federer, will Nadal suffer the same fate?

After his first round bye as second seed Nadal started the tournament off in fine form with an easy 6-4, 6-3 victory over Oleksandr Dolgopolov Junior of the Ukraine.

Thirteenth seed Isner has played two matches so far and has struggled to three sets in both of them. He overcame Belgian Christophe Rochus 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 in the first round before defeating Columbian qualifier Santiago Giraldo 1-6, 7-6, 6-2. Should the American give Nadal the first set in their match, like he has done in his first two matches, will he be able to progress to the next round?

If Nadal should go one set up on Isner I can see no way back for the American. However, this does not mean that Isner should be written off as he was one set down in the only previous meeting between these two players before pulling a set back. Nadal did manage to win the match but the fact that Isner pulled a set back against the world number three highlights his skill and pluckiness. Unfortunately for him I cannot see him getting anything against Nadal on clay and Nadal should win the game easily enough.

BetRepublic.com Recommends: Back Rafael Nadal to win the match 2-0 @ 1/5

Spanish Grand Prix Motor Sports Betting Preview

After a three week long break, Formula One returns and this weekend’s racing action comes from the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. Jenson Button and McLaren top the championships, but the start of the European section of the season usually entails plenty of car development. Who has upgraded their car the best and who will take the twenty-five points for a win? BetRepublic.com previews the Spanish Grand Prix here.

Outright Race Winner Odds (supplied by William Hill):

Sebastian Vettel – 2/1

Lewis Hamilton – 10/3

Fernando Alonso – 4/1

Mark Webber – 7/1

Jenson Button – 15/2

Nico Rosberg – 14/1

Michael Schumacher – 14/1

Felipe Massa – 14/1

Robert Kubica – 40/1

Adrian Sutil – 66/1

Rubens Barrichello – 100/1

Vitaly Petrov – 150/1

Vitantonio Liuzzi – 200/1

Sebastien Buemi – 200/1

Jamie Alguersuari – 200/1

Nico Hulkenburg – 250/1

Kamui Kobayashi – 250/1

Pedro de la Rosa – 250/1

Heikki Kovalainen – 500/1

Jarno Trulli – 500/1

Lucas di Grassi – 1000/1

Timo Glock – 1000/1

Karun Chandhok – 1500/1

Bruno Senna – 1500/1

Spanish Grand Prix Motor Sports Odds : The Circuit de Catalunya is similar in certain aspects to the last circuit that Formula One visited at the Chinese Grand Prix in that it is tough on tyres and has a massive start/finish straight. Will this play into the hands of McLaren, like things did in China? I believe it will.

The McLaren cars were the first to use the F-duct and, despite it being roundly copied by many other teams, they and their drivers will go into this race knowing how to get the best of it on the long straight without having to learn it in Friday’s free practice sessions.

With Jenson Button having claimed wins in two of the four races so far this season and Lewis Hamilton having provided some of the most astounding drives of the season, both drivers will be highly motivated for this race and will push each other and, in my opinion, one of them will take the chequered flag.

Who will it be though?

With the way that Hamilton goes through the tyres and the track in Barcelona being incredibly abrasive, I feel that Jenson Button will finish the race on the top step of the podium. However, it is going to be incredibly close between the drivers and with the weather forecast for Sunday being “Light showers / patchy light rain possible, especially later in race” I’m going to hedge my bets and back a McLaren to win the race @ 15/8 rather than back either driver.

Of the other two big hitting teams this season, Ferrari and Red Bull, what does the weekend have in store for them? Firstly, Red Bull have claimed pole position at all four races so far this year and are undoubtedly the fastest car over one lap.

For this reason alone I will be backing a Red Bull to begin the Spanish Grand Prix on pole position and despite the fact that they have locked out the top starting spot all season long a Red Bull to start on pole can be backed at an attractive 4/6. In the race both Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber will stand a good chance of claiming some good points should the rain fall as forecast.

However, should the race remain dry I am not sure how well their tyres will last on such a hard tyre circuit, especially as the Red Bull cars are fairly hard on their tyres normally.

After some poor showings so far this year Felipe Massa is now a massive 14/1 to win the Spanish Grand Prix. These are the same odds as both of the Mercedes drivers who are yet to come close to challenging the top spot of podium! However, home favourite Fernando Alonso has put in some excellent performances at his new team and I feel that he will be challenging for a podium place on Sunday afternoon, as long as he does not get stuck behind his team-mate again. Alonso can be backed at 10/11 to end the race in the top three.

A final word on the biggest name in Formula One history – Michael Schumacher. His comeback has not gone as planned with his team-mate Nico Rosberg having outperformed him every race so far. However, Mercedes have put a massive amount of work into developing their car over the last three weeks and have made plenty of changes in the hope that the German will be competitive again.

If this pays off and he can find some form then it is not too late for Mercedes to make a charge up the championship table. Hopefully in making the changes to the car they do not make a mess of things for Nico Rosberg who has two fifth and two third placed finishes to his name and sits second in the drivers championship.

I feel that the changes will help Schumacher and the team and he will gain some well needed points this weekend. Schumacher can be backed at 11/10 to finish in the top six positions at the end of the race and I feel that he is worth a small wager.

BetRepublic Recommends:

Venus Williams vs Jelena Jankovic Thuraday's Tennis Betting Odds

There are several tennis tournaments taking place around Europe this week and for today’s article we’re focusing on one match from the WTA Rome Masters tournament and one game from the ATP Estoril Open. The women’s fixture sees two of the biggest names in women’s tennis face off as Venus Williams takes on Jelena Jankovic, while the men’s fixture sees the biggest draw in tennis in action as Roger Federer meets Arnaud Clement. Will the favourites win these matches? BetRepublic.com previews all the action here.

Venus Williams v Jelena Jankovic Tennis Betting Lines:

This Quarter Final match sees one of the closest rivalries in women’s tennis go another round. These two players have met on ten previous occasions, with the score tied at five wins apiece. This match promises to be a classic match and bookmaker believe it is going to be so close that they cannot separate either player and both are available at odds of 5/6.

Both players have played two matches each in the tournament, with Williams having dispensed with her opponents in a typically efficient fashion. After skipping the first round with a bye she thumped Patti Schnyder 6-2, 6-2 in the second round before getting past Shahar Peer 6-3, 6-4 to book her final eight place. Jankovic had a tough time in the second round against Bethanie Mattek-Sands but progressed 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 before breezing past Yanina Wickmayer 6-2, 6-0 for her Quarter Final spot.

This will be the eleventh match between these two players and the winner will take a six-five overall lead. Venus Williams has won the last two matches between the players and will be looking to make it three wins in a row. However, of the four matches that they have played on Clay three of them have been won by Jelena Jankovic. Will she make it four from five? I think she will as she is returning to form and Williams has not beaten her on Clay since Rome 2005. However, she will not have it easy as all of their last nine meetings have gone to three sets and I don’t see any reason that this should change in this match.

BetRepublic.com Recommends: Back Jelena Jankovic to win the match 2-1 @ 3/1

Roger Federer vs Arnaud Clement Tennis Betting Odds:

This Quarter Final match at the Estoril Open sees the world number one face the world number eighty-three in their tenth ever meeting. Federer leads Clement six-three after their previous nine encounters and the Swiss national will be in highly confident of making it seven-three after his first win on clay in 2010.

Federer defeated Bjorn Phau in the second round, after receiving a bye in the first round as the top seeded player. Federer had failed to win on clay before this in the calendar year but strolled through this match in straight sets, winning 6-3, 6-4. Clement has already played two matches and he defeated Igor Kunitsyn in three sets in the first round before beating Columbian Alejandro Falla 6-4, 6-3 in the second round.

Despite these two players having met on nine previous occasions, their paths have not crossed since 2006. Federer has won the last five matches between the two players in a run that goes back as far as the start of the 2001 season. Despite Federer having had a poor start to his clay season this year I do not see him losing this match, however of the five straight victories he has recorded over Clement two have seen Clement take a set from Federer, including their last match. This coupled with Federer’s poor start to the year makes me think that Clement may take this match to three sets.

BetRepublic.com Recommends: Back Roger Federer to win the match 2-1 @ 7/1
